I've built countless PC systems within this case and every time the process does not disappoint. The options are truly limitless in terms of hardware support and orientations. For this particular build I wanted to showcase a relatively simple build with an ease of execution which you too would have an easy time replicating. How great do those new UNI FAN AL120 V2 fans look?! When compared with the V1's, these new fans bring an improved daisy chain design to connect 2 clusters of fans. Fan frame thickness is 28mm to provide 20% improved airflow compared to V1 and removable interlocking keys to provide better radiator clearance, to name a few. One thing is still clear, Lian Li know how to make the back side of a fan visually appealing too :D Moving on to the Strimer Plus V2 RGB extension cables, these have been extremely well designed and made as I would come to expect. Excellent flexibility of the cables allows you to position them with ease, then the RGB lighting is soft, well diffused and extremely vibrant. Connectivity is intuitive with support being from either the RGB header of your motherboard or for more control, Lian Li's own software integration. It's easy to assume the lack of top cooling makes the chassis a hotbox, but fortunately Lian Li thought about this. Those feet are elevated at 27mm height, this gives the bottom intake fans plenty of breathing space to pull in cool air. Combine that with a spacious interior and ample radiator support and even the i9 14900K runs below average temps which has been great to see! The Lancool 216 takes that chassis, switches a few things around and gives us a solid upgrade! Some features feel close to the Lancool III, such as the perforated mesh PSU shroud which can pull in air to further cool your GPU. The main difference being that they don't open out in the same way at the Lancool III, and that's perfectly fine with me. For this build Lian Li sent me the RGB version of this chassis, I'm partial to some RGB and feel that it's well executed. It goes without say that having those huge 160mm front fans glow up certainly grabs your attention! throughout the rest of the build I utilised DeepCool's FK120 fans which have been excellent performers, running silently and moving plenty of air around the chassis. The Lancool III is no exception! Taking feedback from the Lancool II, it's clear to see that the overall design has been improved, allowing more airflow and a better use of the internal volume, whilst keeping a slick aesthetic. For this build I really wanted to maximise airflow performance giving almost unrestricted access for the air to pass both through the front panel and above the PSU shroud with little to no obstructions. This has kept the ASUS TUF RTX 3090 Ti at extremely cool temperatures indeed, even under heavy load. Those SL120 UNI Infinity fans are looking absolutely incredible too! I've always loved the way Lian-Li have created a modular system which removes the copious amounts of cables typically associated with RGB setups. Major Kudos once again!
