Sram recently launched the latest update to their second tier groupset, Force AXS. Similarly, Shimano also fairly recently updated their second tier groupset, Ultegra R8100. The relationship between bottom bracket spindle and bearing is the core of SRAM DUB technology. It’s where stiffness meets durability. We took it a step beyond conventional thinking and made everything simpler—better integrating the relationship between chainring, crank, spindle and bottom bracket. It’s this approach to developing a complete system that equals better drivetrain performance. - The bicycle industry is almost entirely comprised of enthusiasts and dreamers, but the crew at the San Luis Obispo development facility takes it to a level of intensity that is simply a notch higher. I never liked SRAM AXS. It doesn’t shift better, it’s not much easier to set up, and it’s not more durable. It’s also way more expensive. I've got to admit, at first I thought Transmission, SRAM's new electronic drivetrain, was just another meaningless update to get us to spend more money. But then I realized that although it's still a derailleur, there are real performance improvements. After spending time on it, the fact of the matter is that SRAM Transmission is the best derailleur that I’ve ever used.
